Philanthropic Guru
In honor of Girl Up I challenge you to research the issues impacting girls in developing countries. Often times as women we focus on the small minute details of our lives. Will I ever meet the right guy, will I finally loose the extra weight I put on from college, or am I living a life according to me or the status quo? Although these are all valid worries it is important to realize and remember that we are blessed to have the ability to freely worry. When I was in Lesotho, Africa a few years ago young girls would be mothers at a young age, endured arranged marriages, and had very little hope to develop their own meaning of life.
Let us celebrate the internal happiness that we can find through realizing how we blessed we are to be free. With every blessing comes the importance of helping those less fortunate than us through prayer and action- being an advocate for the women marginalized around the world.
